WEST Brom striker Peter Odemwingie's proposed transfer to QPR fell through after the clubs failed to agree terms.
The 31-year-old travelled down to Loftus Road on Thursday evening to try to force a move to the R's.
However, Albion released a statement denying that the Nigerian had been granted permission to talk to Rangers.
"The club can confirm they have held further discussions with QPR today but those talks have so far proven fruitless and no agreement has been reached," said West Brom.
"Albion would also like to make clear that Peter has not been given permission to speak to QPR about a potential move."
Odemwingie was refused entry to Loftus Road out of respect for West Brom, and boss Harry Redknapp later revealed the move was off after failing to agree a fee with the Baggies.
Redknapp still had a successful deadline day, following the signings of Chris Samba, Jermaine Jenas and Andros Townsend.
