ENGLAND keeper Rob Green could find himself on the QPR bench after only three games if the deal to bring in Brazil’s Julio Cesar goes through in the next 48 hours.
Boss Mark Hughes admitted the move for the Inter Milan star is very much on, but he would sit down and discuss with Green (pic) the challenge to his spot.
The man signed from West Ham just two months ago got off to a dreadful start in the opening hammering by Swansea – but Hughes insists Cesar appearing out of the blue is perfect timing to bolster the squad.
The manager said: “There’s nothing concluded and papers are going back and forth – but the intention (to sign Cesar) is there.
“Sometimes when opportunities present themselves you have to take advantage of them.
“I haven’t had a chance to go through it with him (Green) because I’ve been concerned with preparing for the game against Walsall.
“But it’s a challenge, and what we’re trying to do here is improve the quality of the group and that includes the goalkeeping position as well.”
