Fulham have completed the signing of free agent Mickael Tavares on a short-term deal.
The midfielder played under boss Martin Jol at Hamburg and spent a spell on loan at Middlesbrough a couple of seasons ago.
Jol revealed last week that he had lined up a replacement for Mahamadou Diarra, who is out for another month with a knee injury.
And 29-year-old Tavares has finalised a move to Craven Cottage.
He said: “Mickael is a typical holding midfielder and I’m delighted that we’ve been able to strengthen this area.
"He played for me when I was at Hamburg so I’m familiar with his qualities and he will prove to be a very good addition.”
