MARTIN Jol believes the arrival of £4million Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov is the most high-profile signing in Fulham's history.
The Bulgarian international finally completed his move to Craven Cottage this afternoon after passing a medical and agreeing terms on a two-year deal.
And Whites boss Jol, who worked with the frontman during their time together at Spurs, believes the 31-year-old's signing is a landmark for the club.
“I'm a very happy man,” said the Dutchman. “It's the biggest signing in the history of Fulham, in terms of profile.
“He's got a very good record and I don't think there's another striker in the past five years, apart from [Robin] Van Persie, who could match that.
“He knows he will enjoy his football with me and hopefully he will score us goals.
“We can use his qualities to our advantage and be a very good club.”
