BILLY McKinlay praised Fulham's character after they recorded their first-ever win at Anfield – just three days after being thumped on Merseyside by Everton.
The Whites were hammered 4-0 by the Toffees at the weekend, but gave the perfect response against Liverpool thanks to Martin Skrtel's early own goal as they won for only the fourth time on the road all season.
“We're delighted with the result,” said Fulham first-team coach McKinlay.
“Saturday was a difficult result for us. We're not happy with the way we played and I knew we would get a reaction tonight.
“We started well, got the early goal and played some good football.
“Liverpool put us under a little bit of pressure towards the end of the first half, which we knew they would as it's always a difficult place to come.
“Second half they started on the front foot and put some dangerous balls into the box, but I thought we coped with them quite well.
“As the game progressed we had two or three changes to sew it up, so I'm really pleased.”
