BIG-SPENDING Chelsea have confirmed the capture of Brazilian playmaker Oscar from Internacional.
The 20-year-old attacking midfielder is part of Brazil’s squad for the London 2012 Olympic Games and has attracted interest from a host of clubs.
But the Blues have beaten the competition to secure the talented youngster who joins fellow countrymen Lucas Piazon, David Luiz and Ramires at Stamford Bridge.
No details of the fee have been released by Chelsea, although the Chronicle understands Roman Abramovich will fork out around €25million for Oscar.
Oscar’s capture would push Chelsea’s summer spending past the £60million mark following the capture of Belgian brothers Eden and Thorgan Hazard and German wide-man Marko Marin.
Meanwhile, winger Kevin De Bruyne is believed to be in advanced talks with Werder Bremen over a proposed loan move.
De Bruyne moved to London from Racing Genk last January but was immediately loaned back to the Belgian club until the end of last season.
