BRENTFORD boss Uwe Rosler wants to bring in as many as SIX new signings to bolster his squad for next season.
Craig Woodman has been placed on the transfer list, while Rosler is still weighing up whether to offer fresh terms to defender Shaleum Logan.
That leaves the Bees with 15 contracted players for next campaign, and Rosler has revealed he wants a first-team squad of 21 to battle it out for promotion to the Championship.
The German is keen to bring Everton youngsters Jake Bidwell and Adam Forshaw back to the club following successful loan spells last season, while Brentford have also been linked with out-of-contract Dundee United midfielder Scott Robertson.
Rosler said: “We are looking to run with a squad of around 20/21 first-team players and another four development players.
“We want to bring in around six new signings. The main areas we are looking to strengthen are in defence and attack, where we are low on numbers.
“We have already offered contracts to some targets and are waiting for their answers.”
Rosler also paid tribute to Osborne, Wood and Bean, whose exits were all confirmed on the club's released list this week.
“They are players who have been at the club for a number of years,” added the Bees boss.
“They have been very good in terms of commitment and played a lot of games.
“Karleigh Osborne was offered a new contract but wanted to explore different avenues, Marcus Bean left for different reasons and Sam Wood had left earlier in the season for Rotherham.
“They have been a pleasure to work with and professional at all times.”
