ANDRE Villas-Boas has warned QPR not to believe they can get Alex on the cheap, even though the player wants away from Stamford Bridge.
Rangers are currently in negotiations with the Brazilian defender, but no transfer fee has been agreed between the clubs.
“Alex has been authorised to have talks with QPR and at the moment, it's between them, but there hasn't been any agreement between the clubs,” said Chelsea's manager.
“We are talking about a Brazilian international of great value and it's always difficult to let a player of this dimension go for a price that we don't see as fair.
“I'm not saying that their offer is below par, but I think if there's full interest, QPR or any other club will make an effort for a player of this dimension.”
Villas-Boas added: “It's important for the well being of the player most of all that his future is decided.
"It's a player who generates a lot of interest, but it's an expensive player but hopefully he can reach an agreement with a club where he can continue to progress with his career.”
