CHELSEA have lost out in the race to sign Argentina international Javier Pastore.
The Blues had been embroiled in a two-way battle for the midfielder but last night Pastore signalled his intention to French club Paris St Germain.
"You can officially say I will be a Paris St Germain player, although I still need to do the medical and review some details," he said.
"I am very eager to begin this new phase. They explained the project and immediately seduced me to the challenge.
"I want to be a part of PSG, a great club with a great history. It makes me immensely happy that they trusted me."
The £37 million move is yet to be officially announced with Pastore yet to undergo a medical in the French capital.
However, it is expected that the Argentinean will be unveiled as PSG’s record signing by the end of this week.
Meanwhile, Blues winger Yuri Zhirkov looks set to end his two-year stay in London by returning to Russia with Anzhi Makhachkala.
