Train victim named

THE Chiswick man who died after being struck by a train at Ealing Broadway station has been named.

Charles Lanek, 45, of Gladstone Road, Chiswick, was killed instantly on Saturday January 30.

Police cars, ambulances and fire crews were called to the busy station at 12:10pm and an air ambulance helicopter was forced to land on Haven Green as onlookers watched in astonishment.

An inquest into the married man's death was opened and adjourned at West London Coroners' Court yesterday pending further enquiries.
