68-year-old hit by lorry
A pensioner died following a road accident in Southall yesterday (18).
Salamat Begun, 68, was struck by a white lorry as shoe crossed the road in the Broadway at about 4.20pm.
The lorry was heading east along the Broadway towards Southall police station and the pedestrian when the tragedy happened.
An ambulance took the woman, who is believed to be from Southampton, to a west London hospital where she was pronounced dead at about 6pm.
A post mortem is due to take place tomorrow (20) at Uxbridge Coroners' Court.
Officers from Alperton Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for witnesses to call 0208 998 5519. No one has been arrested at the time of going to press.
