The extreme weather conditions even affected comedy Downstairs at the Drayton last week. But this time the damp conditions were ON STAGE. The show at the weekly club ground to a halt mid-show last Friday when ice and freezing cold water poured on to the stage.
It was not a leaking roof that caused the problem, however, but an irate member of the audience who took exception to the material of edgy comic crooner and popular Drayton regular, Frank Sanazi.
The woman, who may have had a few too many, started throwing ice at the comic during his hilarious remake of Strangers In The Night - Strangers On My Flight.
Before he knew what had hit him, the entire contents of the bucket followed, as the furious lady sitting at the front walked out, followed by her two friends, proclaiming his act 'rubbish'.
The rest of the crowd clearly did not agree though and, after a quick bit of mopping up on stage, Sanazi, dressed in his trademark dinner jacket and Hitler moustache, returned to finish his set and was given a rapturous reception.
