A FORMER Ealing College student has returned to extend his toy enterprise across London by opening a shop in Ealing Broadway.
Bhav Patel has a strong business background with a degree in business and marketing as well as eight years of retail experience to his name. He opened his fifth Toy Galaxy store in the capital on Saturday last week.
The 30-year-old believes there is a gap in the market for his shop in bustling Ealing High Street.
Toy Galaxy sells classic brands such as Lego and Playmobil, and Bhav believes what sets his business apart is his commitment to the customer.
“Personal service is so important,” he said. “Ealing needs a good, traditional toy shop that can truly help find the perfect gift for a child. We want kids to come in to pick up and really engage with a toy.
“A child’s interaction with a toy is so important when you compare it to online shopping, which is just clicking on a screen, or flicking through a catalogue.”
Bhav believes it is vital for small businesses like his to build links with other local firms, and he supports the Ealing Shop Local Campaign and its website www.ealingshoplocal.co.uk.
He said: “It’s a fundamental fact that local businesses need to support one another and complement each other. Speaking to other children’s shops in the area is important so you can help each other out rather than take custom away.”
